Description
Rabajà-Bas was formerly apart of the Rabajà cru, one of the most famous vineyards in Italy. In the 1990’s the cru was divided in two, the driving force for doing this was due to a road that separated the two sites. Rabajà-Bas is west-facing, is very steep and is situated at the top of the hill overlooking Paje. Grapes are harvested and followed by a 20 day maceration and fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts. Temperature is kept consistent and closely monitored. The wine is then aged for 18 months in large Slavonian botti and 4 months in stainless steel. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration and further aged for 14 months minimum before it is released.

Taste
A serious, densely flavoured expression of Nebbiolo. The wine is dry, full-bodied and concentrated. The wine shows lots of red fruit: cherries, strawberries and cranberry. There is a wild herbaceous rosemary note along with tobacco leaf, dried earth and dried leather undertones. The palate is broad and structured with mouth-drying tannins; all while being incredibly elegant and refined.
