Description
The Musella Estate is located just east of Verona close to the village of Ferrazze. There are three vineyards, Monte del Drago, Perlar and Palazzina, on three different hills that are biodynamically farmed. Biodynamic farming, for Musella, means fertilization, cultivation and breeding are implemented in ways that respect and promote the fertility and vitality of the soil as well as abolishing the use of synthetic mineral fertilizers and chemical pesticides. The care taken in the vineyard and winery are reflected in the vibrant and complex wines that they produce.
The grapes hand-harvested, softly pressed, the must is chilled to 12C to precipitate gross lees before a natural fermentation with indigenous yeast. After fermentation the wine is moved into cement eggs where they are left untouched on fine lees to age for a year before they are bottled unfiltered, unfined with a minimal amount of added sulfite.
