We a super pleased to be able to bring you this next guest from Rioja, Spain. Daniel Velasco of Finca La Emperatriz. A historic vineyard once owned by the Empress of France, at almost 600 metres above sea level in one of the coldest areas of Rioja. The very pebbly soils make it the ideal vineyard for producing fine, elegant, long and tasty wines with great cellaring potential; personality in its purest form.

In 1996 the Hernáiz family acquired this estate and brothers Eduardo and Víctor Hernáiz took charge of the winemaking project with their only aim being quality wines, recovering old vines that were still growing on the estate and planting new ones.

Rioja wines, both reds and whites, are treasures of Spain's storied wine heritage, each bottle a unique narrative of the rich, clay and iron-soiled region. While the reds are celebrated for their deep, velvety flavours and fine aging potential, the whites distinguish themselves with their vibrant acidity and elegant floral notes, making every sip a testament to the diversity and excellence of Rioja's vineyards.
