Description
The 13th Century Ormanni estate is located in the heart of Chianti, between the towns of Poggibonsi and Castellinai. For the last 200 years, the estate has been owned by the Brini Batacchi family who have been producing true expressions of what the region has to offer.
The vineyards for their Chianti Classico are located near Barberino Val d’Elsa, within the province of Florence, and are planted at an altitude of 350-400 m above sea level. At the winery, fermentation occurs in stainless steel vats for 10-12 days at acontrolled temperature of 27-28°C. Wine is then aged for 10-12 months in barriques and big third and fourth passage oak barrels followed by a minimum of 4 months in bottle.

Taste
A pure expression of Sangiovese with great concentration of fruit; ripe and almost confected cherry, raspberry and strawberry. Enveloped in fresh turned earth, balsamic, roasted tomatoes, and cinnamon spice. The tannins are prominent but nicely balanced with fresh acidity and a long finish.
